![]() ![]() ![]() I tried Ren Bass (and Ren Vox), cuz I needed the included Waves HD upgrade for the L2 that I have, and the Ren II colection is the cheapest way to upgrade. I was getting good kick and bass tracks via good mic selection, mic position and preamps and eqs on the front-end, so every time I tried Max bass it sounded muddy and boomy. So, whether you have comments on MaxxBass vs RenBass or Waves Gold vs Renaissance II, I'd be interested in hearing feedback from you folks. However, this is all from what I have read, and I have not had an opportunity to compare them myself. It seems like with the Renaissance line of products, Waves goes for less tweakable options, but a more natural sounding effect. FTR, I mix mostly rock of one type or another, and I like full but TIGHT low end - not so much looking for dub or hip hop style bass. Since my primary desire is for a product to help me create mixes with the "best" low end, it really does come down to MaxxBass vs RenBass. While the Gold has some killer plug-ins, much of it will be somewhat redundant, and it is a good bit more expensive than the RenII (which is a nice bundle, too). This, of course, boils down to getting the RenII collection, or Waves Gold. I have an 002 system on order, and while the bundled plug-ins are impressive, I would like to pick up either MaxxBass or RenBass. ![]()
